Orange Pudding

Let's unravel the tantalizing allure of orange pudding—a dessert that effortlessly combines the refreshing tang of oranges with velvety smoothness. Whether enjoyed on a warm summer evening or as a comforting treat on a chilly winter's day, the orange pudding knows no bounds when it comes to indulgence. It is a versatile dessert that can be relished as a refreshing finale to a hearty meal or as a standalone delight that brightens any occasion.


Ingredients

375ml Marmalade

4 tablespoons Brown sugar

5 large Eggs

200g Sugar

250ml Milk

120g Butter

1 tablespoon Orange zest

Orange slices, use the orange you zested

280g Plain flour

2 teaspoons Baking powder

Pinch salt

Syrup

400g Sugar

250ml Water

30g Butter

1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

250ml Orange juice


Method

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Grease your dessert oven dish with butter, and sprinkle with brown sugar.

Place teaspoons full of marmalade in the bottom of your dish, and top with the orange slices.

Place the butter, milk, and orange zest in a small saucepan and heat till the butter is melted.

Sift together the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.

Whisk together the eggs and sugar till light and fluffy.

Take turns, add the egg and milk mixture to the flour mixture, and whisk till smooth.

Pour into your dish and bake for 35-45 minutes till cooked through.

Add all the syrup ingredients to a saucepan and heat till the sugar is dissolved, let it simmer for 5 minutes.

Pour the hot syrup over the hot pudding.

Serve with ice cream or custard.
