A bit more about me ...
Born and raised in South Africa my interest in food started in my grandmother’s kitchen, her old-fashioned, honest cooking and my grandfather’s Italian flair shaped my view of food.
My kitchen journey started accidentally, but my immediate bond with the staff, the process, and the rush of service cemented my career. My career started in a small town in The Overberg and then we took the big leap and spend 10 years in Australia. I fell in love with this country's wonderful flavors and fresh produce. We've been lucky to travel and are currently spending time in Europe and specifically The Netherlands where again I am blown away by the flavors and beauty of this country.
I see myself as an artist but a very structured one, I love planning and working towards a goal. In my free time, I love to cook, crochet, read, and when I have the time paint.I am a mum of three adults children and a beautiful grandchild, I have spent over 20 years in professional kitchens and would love to share some of my knowledge with you.
I hope to help different people through my site, first-time cooks, Mum out of ideas, or restaurants that need solutions.
I hope to bring passion to your kitchen to create honest food in a friendly, warm atmosphere.
